Nairobi – The miseries of the deposed vice president Rigathi Gachagua seems to be more than a few days after some of its employees were sent on compulsory leave.

A notice signed by Administrative Secretary Patrick Mwangi, dated Saturday, October 19, asked the workers to comply with the order by 12pm, Sunday, October 20.
Gachagua's office in Harambee Annex has since been placed under strict security, with his staff barred from entering the building.
According to reports, all employees, both permanent and contract, had been ordered to stay at home until further notice to report.
What activities take place in the Gachagua office
An inspection revealed that the Rapid Response Unit (RDU) of the police had taken control of the office, and the doors were completely locked and no normal activities were observed.
Workers who tried to enter the office were turned away by security officials, who cited orders to prohibit anyone from entering the facility.
A few workers who did not give their names expressed uncertainty about the reason for the ban but expressed hope that the situation would change.
Police officers in charge of the compound refused to give further details, explaining that they were following strict orders to prevent entry into the area, even for workers.

This comes following the disclosure of the government's chief economic advisor Moses Kuriawho are alleged to show Gachagua as unfair in his selection.
In a post shared on X on Friday, October 18, Kuria claimed that 80% of the staff in the Office of the Deputy President are from Mathira constituency.
The Senate found Gachagua guilty of breaking the National Harmony and Integration Act, specifically sections 13 (1) (a) and 62, which deal with promoting ethnic harmony and preventing hate speech.
Kuria failed to explain the reasons for this public holiday that came a few days after Gachagua was fired.
Following the mandatory holiday notice, the Member of Parliament for Mumias Eastern Peter Salasya criticized the government for the decision.
