The police are looking for a male suspect who is believed to be involved in the brutal murder of Seth Nyakio.
The body of a 23-year-old student was found in a rented room in Biafra, Thikathe night of October 13.
Why was Nyakio Thika?
Nyakio had left his home in Kamakis, County Kiambuwent to visit his friend Thika the day before he was found dead.
Thika West Sub-County police commander, Laurence Muchangi, revealed that the girlfriend who found the body cooperated with the police.
Daily Nation reports that investigators are now looking for a male suspect, who is believed to be hiding after the murder.
“We suspect that the reason was with relationship the previous one where the male suspect had been abandoned by the deceased,” said Muchangi.
How was Nyakio's body found?
Investigators believe that the killer may have tricked the little girl Thika and taken her life.
Muchangi added that Nyakio's body showed signs of confrontation, and investigators are treating the case as murder and sexual abuse.
Nyakio's mother, Lucy Njeri, who is the Member of Parliament for the County (MCA) in Kirinyagaexpressed the deep pain he felt about his daughter's death.
Njeri's last conversation with Nyakio
He remembered their last conversation, which took place on the evening of October 12, when Nyakio assured his mother that he was safe.
However, when Nyakio lost contact the next day, Njeri became very worried.
His worst fears were confirmed when he received a call from one of Nyakio's friends telling him the terrible news.
After learning that his daughter had been found deadNjeri ran to Thika where he was directed to the area.
“There she was… naked, with blood stains on her private parts and signs of trauma,” Njeri remembered with pain.
Nyakio was Njeri's only child.
