President William Ruto led this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations at Kwale Stadium.
In his speech, he avoided mentioning the removal of the former vice president Rigathi Gachagua despite Kenyans eagerly waiting to hear what he had.
However, the controversial Gachagua used his X account to wish Kenyans well during the national event.
How did Ruto stop Gachagua from attending? Heroes Day?
Speaking after leaving the hospital, Gachagua claimed he was prevented from attending the national event by order of the president.
He disclosed that all helicopter owners have been warned not to allow him to use their aircraft to reach the place.
“There was an effort not to go For that to celebrate. Wilson airport was told not to go through there. All the helicopter owners were told that I should not be allowed to use any of them to go to Kwale, I don't understand,” he said.
Gachagua also expressed his concern about the removal of his security following his dismissal from power at night when he was being treated for severe chest pain at the Karen hospital.
What did Gachagua say about his health?
Meanwhile, the former deputy president claimed that Ruto should be blamed if anything happens to him or his family.
He claimed that the head of state wanted to cripple him like former president Daniel Moi did to Kenneth Matiba.
According to Gachagua, he survived two assassination attempts by government officials which eventually paved the way for his removal.
