On Sunday, October 20, immediately after his release, Gachagua held a press conference at the Karen Hospital.
He was with his wife, his two sons, Kevin and Keith, and his political friends.
Gachagua accused the President William Ruto for wanting him to die.

Pastor Dorcas was seen trying to hold back tears when her husband talked about his recent life after being removed from the post.
After the press conference, Dorcas found herself crying.
When they were heading to the car to leave the house, she stopped reporters who were trying to ask her husband more questions.
“I don't want to talk,” Gachagua answered after being asked a question before his wife intervened.
“Leave him, man. What's your problem?” said Dorcas with tears in her eyes as they walked towards the car.
The lovers were holding hands as they walked slowly, with sadness painted on their faces.
The mother of two opened the front door for her husband before leaving with their children.
