As a precaution, the boy's grandfather called the police officers to confirm if the news of his grandson's discovery was true as he was on his way to see him.

“I called the police to tell me for sure because I was also afraid that it might be a trap, but the officer went and told me that it was really my grandson,” Francis narrated.

The officer later helped make arrangements to evacuate the Form Three student and went to the station to file a report.

The two, now grandfather and grandson, traveled to Gilgil, County Nakuru where he was taken to another hospital for treatment.

He added that his grandson sustained a fracture in his left leg but was recovering.

“He was discharged from the hospital the same day at around 7pm with a broken left leg. However, he goes for regular check-ups, and I can confirm that he is responding well to treatment.”
