Daily Nation
The newspaper reported that Kenya will send female police officers from the Military Special Forces (SWAT) to Haiti in November.
They will be part of a force of 600 additional officers who are set to join their colleagues already leading the international police operation in the Caribbean country.
About 396 Kenyan police officers, deployed in two groups, are already working with gangs in Haiti as part of the United Nations-backed International Security Assistance Program (MSS).
This deployment will be the first time Kenya has deployed female officers on peacekeeping missions. The officers are currently undergoing training at the National Police Academy Embakasi “A” Campus.
Additional officers expected to travel to Haiti are from the Special Service Unit (GSU), the Anti-Livestock Theft Unit (ASTU), and the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU).
Kenya being the lead country in the MSS mission, Godfrey Otunge of Kenya serves as commander, while Colonel Kevron Henry of Jamaica, another contributing country, is his deputy.
Kenyan officers have been in Haiti since June, participating in joint operations with the Haitian National Police (HNP).

According to the newspaper, the Senate heard allegations that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua opened the bank accounts of his late brother, the former governor of PainNderitu Gachagua, and used the money to buy various properties.
Advocate General James Orengo, who led the case of the National Assembly before the Senate session, claimed that Gachagua visited his sick brother in London Hospital and made him sign a will a few days before his death.
He said the co-executors of the deceased's will, Njoroge Regeru and Mwai Mathenge, objected to the way Gachagua handled his brother's assets.
“In February 2017, the Deputy President traveled to London and went to the bedside of his sick brother where he made him sign a will and did not even speak to his doctors, in fact by the time the former Governor died, he was already withdrawing money from his accounts,” said Orengo.
The Deputy President's lawyer, Elisha Ongoya, disputed Orengo's claims, saying that the Deputy President should be treated with common respect.
Ongoya said the issue discussed was aimed at stimulating the emotions of senators when they perform their constitutional duties.

The Kiswahili newspaper reported that allegations of sexual harassment in the case of ousting the Governor of KerichoErick Mutai, have affected his young family.
Mutai described the allegations as false, claiming that they were made by his opponents with the aim of tarnishing his name, especially in his professional, public, and personal life.
The governor, trying to clear himself, said he is considering taking legal action against the politicians who made the baseless allegations.
“I would like to thank my family, especially my wife, for taking care of me during this very difficult time. The allegations made against me have bothered me a lot,” said Mutai.
Mutai claimed that his opponents have defiled themselves with their efforts to bring him down.
Mutai was ousted from office by 31 of the 47 members of the Kericho County Assembly on October 2, 2024, following a motion filed by MCA of Sigowet Ward, Kiprotich Rogony, while 16 members who supported the governor boycotted the session.

He explained that in June 2021, Demadona asked him to bring Tirop to the camp for training before major competitions in Tokyo, Japan, and Valencia, Spain, due to the problems he was facing with his boyfriend who was leaving him, Ibrahim Rotich, at their home near the camp.
Cheromei was testifying in the trial where Rotich, the prime suspect in Tirop's murder, is facing charges of killing him on October 13, 2021, at their rural home in Iten.
