The man, identified as Jimmy Ngugi, was shot in the neck after confronting a police officer.
What did Ngugi say about when he was shot?
Speaking from his hospital bed and NTVNgugi said that he confronted a police officer after he found him urinating on his motorcycle.
He said he confronted the officer about his behavior, but the officer, who was drunk, quickly denied it.
“I used the light of my phone to show him where he urinated. Then the officer asked me what I wanted him to do about it,” said Ngugi.
The dispute between Ngugi and the officer quickly took a turn for the worse when the officer allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Ngugi in the neck.
“I told him that I just wanted him to stop peeing on my motorcycle. That's when he took out his gun and shot me,” he added.
Ngugi suffered neck and bone injuries from the incident.
His friends, who were present during the altercation, expressed their concern for their safety as the alleged officer has not been arrested yet.
“I fear for my life because I was close to Ngugi during the incident. The officer saw us and so far no action has been taken against him,” one friend said.
Now Ngugi is asking the government to take action against the officer, saying that the incident is a form of police brutality because he did nothing wrong.
Naivasha CID chief, Isaac Kiama, noted that officers from the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Unit (CIPU) together with DCI They have started an investigation on the matter.
