Wiper Senator Claims Adani Funded Raila's 2012 Campaign: “Kalonzo Was There”

Nairobi – Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo has made serious allegations against the opposition leader Raila Odinga about the proposed multi-billion deals from Adani.

Speaking on Citizen TV on Monday, October 14, Maanzo claimed that Raila he has a history with the controversial Indian company.

The Wiper senator claimed that the Adani group was among the main sponsors of Raila's presidential bid in 2012.

According to Maanzo, Adani sponsored the presidential campaign of the Union for Change and Democracy (CORD), where Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was a running mate.

“Adani is a company from India, and Raila admitted that he has known the company since 2010 when he was the Prime Minister. It was one of the companies that funded his presidential campaign to become president in 2012. They funded Raila's presidential campaign. I don't have the exact amount. Kalonzo was there,” In the beginning he demanded.

The senator who is known for his positions also claimed that the Indian company had bribed Raila and the President William Rutoand that is why it was getting favor from the government.

According to Maanzo, the appointment of Opiyo Wandayi as Minister of Energy was not luck bad

“We are aware that there are many bribes offered so that these companies can get work here, and nothing big will happen. The bribes are worth billions of shillings to some political leaders. I am talking about Raila Odinga and William Ruto,” he demanded.
