Mombasa: British Citizen, 75, Found Murdered and Body Thrown in Bathroom

Kisauni County Deputy Commissioner, Jamleck Mbuba confirmed the death, revealing that the British golfer was found brutally murdered at his home in Utange.

Middleton's body, badly injured, was found in the bathroom by a cleaner who had gone to do his daily duties.

“We received information that Middleton was found brutally murdered in his home. His body was discovered by a cleaner who went there in the morning to do his usual cleaning,” Mbuba said, as reported by the Nation.

According to DCC, police officers who arrived at the scene found a machete near the body of the deceased, which they believe was used in the horrific murder.

He added that Middleton, who was living alone at the time, had serious injuries to his hands, and although there were little signs of a struggle.

“The body had serious cuts on the hands. There were little signs of a struggle at the scene of the murder,” Mbuba added.

Who reported Middleton's murder?

Mbuba pointed out that the cleaner who discovered the body called Middleton's girlfriend, who lives in Mtwapa.

Once he arrived at the scene, he gave a statement at the Kiembeni Police Station and an investigation was started immediately.

“The issue is still under investigation, no one has been arrested in connection with the murder, but the investigation is ongoing, I cannot give more details at the moment, we will get to the end and arrest the perpetrators,” he said.

Mbaba noted that the investigators have not yet determined how the killers reached the house, although preliminary results indicate that the suspects may have scaled the perimeter walls before breaking into the house.

Middleton's body has been moved to the Aga Khan Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem as police continue to piece together the circumstances of her death.

The missionaries disappeared from Moyale

Elsewhere, officials of Kenya led by Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli increased efforts to find two South Korean citizens kidnapped in Moyale.

Masengeli visited the scene of the abduction with senior security officials, and encouraged cooperation between the public and defense and security teams to assist in the investigation.

The South Korean missionaries were kidnapped on August 12 by armed assailants at Odda Mission High School, with their captors fleeing on motorcycles.
