Nairobi – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua he has promised to appear in the National Assembly during the debate on the proposal to remove him from his post.
Speaking on Monday, October 7, Gachagua confirmed that he will appear in the National Assembly to defend himself.
The Deputy President, who is facing the heat of politics, said he hopes the lawmakers will allow him to answer all the allegations without interruption.
“I have been invited to appear in the National Assembly tomorrow at 11 pm and I want to confirm to honorable members of parliament, the Speaker and the people of Kenya that I will appear at that time and defend myself for two hours, and I am confident that honorable members of parliament will be kind enough to allow me to answer silently,” said Gachagua.
However, the deputy president said he held a press conference to explain his side to the people of Kenya first.
“I think it is only fair that when MPs intend to remove the Deputy President from office, the people who elected Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President should listen to his side of the story,” he said.
