Irene Achieng, popularly known as Rene, left Kenya with her German boyfriend, but is now single after separating from her husband European.
How Rene left the father of her children
While in an interview with TUKO Talks, Rene shared that her mother was single but later found a husband who took good care of them.
Rene said he didn't know the meaning of going hungry until later in life.
Things changed when their stepfather died, and their mother struggled to support the family through her business Poisonous.
For luck bad, one day, some men abused him, and he got the AIDS virus. It didn't take long before he got sick and died.
Rene met a man who bore her children, but he did not appreciate her, so she ran away and went to live with her sister in Mombasa.
“Before my mother died, we had food on the table, and I faced hunger in my marriage. I went to Mombasa and since I had not yet finished secondary school, I knew I needed to work hard. My pastor used to tell me that I want you to get an education until you finish,” said the doctor.
How Rene met her European husband
“I managed my sister's toy shop, and soon we had a dispute, which meant I had to leave. She was the sole provider, so I started to make a living for myself. Since I had learned massage from the shop behind her, I went looking for a job as a massage assistant ,” he said.
“A concerned white family was visiting my workplace, and the woman started a conversation with me. She ended up paying for my computer and German lessons,” said Rene.
“Uttah used to send me money through Western Union for me and the children, and for my studies, he sent directly to the school,” he added.
“When it came time to learn German, I started my plans to move abroad. I met my husband, and we went to a lawyer and got married,” he participated.
Why did Rene's marriage in Germany break up?
The two left for Germany, but the marriage did not last long.
“I was still young, starting this marriage with the thoughts and problems of the previous union. I loved him very much but I was a little worried and I was looking for the example of a father, of a husband” he explained.
“I left my children; my fear was if he turned on me, I could be alone on the street. It was a good decision, but I couldn't sleep. When my daughter reached adolescence, depression haunted me, and that's when my marriage broke up; I was going through a lot,” he said.
Currently, Rene lives in Germany with one child, and another will join them after completing her psychology degree at the College University of the Coast.
