The Air Force has officially handed over a new two-bedroom house to 95-year-old Esnart Moonga, a resident of Siamikobo village in Chikankata.

This is after his old one-room house was destroyed earlier this month in a military helicopter crash.

The army commander quickly responded to the incident promising to rebuild Ms Moonga's house within 14 days.

Nkani reports that the soldiers fulfilled their promise as the new house was handed over in a ceremony full of joy and relief.

Brigadier General Simon Tembo, who presided over the event, took Ms Moonga to her new home.

The hilarious act of compassion by the disciplinary forces drew cheers from the assembled community.

The dilapidated house was replaced and built in a modern design, giving a new start to the old man.

Apart from the house, Ms Moonga received a wheelchair, bed and mattress, solar lights, groceries, toiletries, and K5,000 in cash.

The heartfelt gesture showed the military's commitment to addressing the damage and improving Ms Moonga's overall quality of life.

A thing that would seem to be luck the bad ended up being a blessing for the veteran.
