Nairobi—Some ODM MPs have warned Mount Kenya leaders against mentioning Raila Odinga's name in a plot to oust Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking in the county of Fever Baythe MPs criticized Gachagua's allies for discrediting Raila and plans to remove the Deputy President from power.
The Minority Leader in the National Assembly Millie Odhiambo revealed that the attack on Raila forced him to sign the bill to expel him.
“Gachagua told us not to touch the mountain and we listened, now he has touched Raila and we are going to touch the mountain. I heard MP Wamaua accusing Raila of being the reason for the impeachment. I had not signed the petition to remove him from power but after they attacked Raila, I looked for the petition and signed it,” Millie said.
According to the North Suba member of parliament, the Orange party is not part of the war within the Union Kenya First.
He said that ODM was interested in seeing the former prime minister win the chair of the African Union Commission.
Millie threatened to lead all Azimio MPs to support the motion to fire Gachagua unless DP allies publicly apologize to Raila.
“We don't know anything about them. Why do you want to drag us into a war that is not ours? And I want to urge you to refrain, stop and go away from attacking him Raila Odinga. Yes, I am going to cry as members of the Declaration to sign it. And if they want us to go back, come out and publicly apologize for attacking Raila, who has done nothing. “
“So please, leave Raila Odinga out of this issue. Leave us out of this issue. It is not our job.”
