Kenyans Protest Outside the Hill Courts, They Want Morara Kebaso Released

Nairobi – The arrest of lawyer-turned-activist Morara Kebaso has sparked outrage from many Kenyans.

The brave activist was arrested by officers from the office of the Director of Criminal Investigation on Monday, September 30, in his office at Kahawa Sukari along the Main Road Thika.

He is scheduled to appear in Milimani Court on Tuesday, October 1, where prominent leaders, including Eugene MalwaWillis Otieno, secretary general of Jubilee Jeremiah Kioni, and Martha Karua of Narc-Kenya, have come to support.

Kenyans singing freedom songs for Morara Kebaso

Before this expected hearing, a group of Kenyans gathered outside the court to protest, demanding his release.

They sang freedom songs for the beloved activist, who has played an important role in holding the government to account in recent months.

“Free Morara… We are tired. Kenyans don't sleep. Kenyans don't sleep… Still fighting, fighting…” they sang.
