Jepkorir was taken to which hospital?
Anita Jepkorir Chirchir passed away in hospital in 2021, while her parents claimed she died due to the negligence of doctors.
The five-year-old died at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), where he was receiving treatment.
“He had breathing problems after swallowing a flower seed. I was told it was not a seed. They said they found a tooth. I agreed because I knew they were doctors and what they were doing,” Kiprono said.

Jepkorir's condition did not change after he left the hospital, leaving his parents worried about his condition.
He had been taken to the clinic a few days before and had been informed that he was fine, but his parents were not convinced.
“When the hospital called me, I knew my child was gone,” Kiprono cried.

According to the autopsy, asphyxia, a condition in which the body lacks oxygen, was identified as the cause staple of Jepkorir's death.
Further reports indicated that other organs, including the lungs, were severely damaged.
“What hurts us the most is the doctors not telling us the truth, if we had been told the truth earlier we would have taken him to a different hospital for treatment,” Kandie said.
