Rigathi Gachagua Denies Allegations He's Taking a Dig at William Ruto: “I'm Defending Our People”

Meru – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua He has denied allegations that his boss, William Ruto, has repeatedly pressured him.

Speaking to local language radio stations Mount Kenya Eastern Sunday, September 29, Gachagua explained the concept that he is going against his boss.

According to the Deputy President, all he was doing was demanding justice from Ruto, for being Mlima Kenya you voted in large numbers to promote him

He revealed that most of the nominations for the populous area were due to extensive lobbying efforts.

“You have heard MPs claim that I pressured the president. There was no pressure, but I sat down with the president and demanded our right because we voted for him. The positions we got as a region were not easily obtained. I worked hard. Every day I have been trying to fight for nominations to come to the region this,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua accused the politicians from the Mt Kenya region who accused him of tribalism, saying his only intention was to fight for the interests of the region.

“I have heard you say that I am a tribalist; isn't it true that I am fighting hard for the people of Mt. Kenya? So, how can you accuse me of tribalism while also saying that I am not doing enough for the community? This is unfair to me. The little I have done, the efforts I put in, are what make them rob me as a tribe,” he added.
