In a tragic case, a mother showed incredible bravery by sacrificing her life to save her 11-month-old daughter from a fire that broke out in their home.
Mutale Bwalya, an entrepreneur from Nkana East, Kitwe, saved his son, Yande Amaya Bwalya.
He took that step by passing him through the neighbor's window before the fire that cost him his life.
Mwebantu reports that Mutale died with his parents, Benedict and Josephine Bwalya.
According to Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba, the cause of the fire is still unknown, but the tragedy cost the lives of all three adults in the house.
The police are continuing with further investigations to determine the cause of the fire.
“Yande Amaya Bwalya, 11 months old, was saved after her mother gave her to a neighbor through the window,” he said.
Commissioner Mweemba also confirmed that the condition of the child sand it's going well.
Mutale's act of selfless love will forever be remembered by those who knew him, especially his surviving daughter.
The entire Kitwe community mourns the loss of a brave mother and her parents for what was described as a serious tragedy.
As the investigation continues, many have volunteered to help baby Yande, who was saved by a final act of maternal courage.
