Associates and assistants of the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua they have obtained an order from the Supreme Court to stop their arrest.
This was after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) approved the proposed charges against them.
Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi accepted the defendants' application to prevent their arrest.
The judge said the orders will come into effect until the case is heard and decided in full.
He ordered the case to be filed under a certificate of urgency.
“Pending the hearing and determination of this petition, this court issues a protective order restraining the respondents themselves, their officers, servants, agents or on their behalf from arresting, detaining, imprisoning, prosecuting or in any other way interfering with the liberty of the petitioners from the allegations made in this petition,” said Mugambi.
The case is scheduled to be mentioned on October 15.
