What are the charges contained in Gachagua's argument?

Although the motion is ready, it has been revealed that no Member of Parliament has come forward yet to make the motion.

Report of NTV states that the charges in the motion against the vice president include violations of the constitution, related legal violations, gross misconduct, and abuse of office.

Additional issues raised by MPs include his controversial remarks about Mount Kenya being shareholders in the government of Kenya First and accusations of promoting divisive politics in the country.

He is also accused of violating the Official Secrets Act and undermining the collective responsibility of the Council of Ministers.

Another concern was Gachagua's decision to blame the National Intelligence Service for the deadly protests against the 2024 Finance Bill.

Gachagua claimed the National Intelligence Service, headed by Noordin Haji, failed to provide important intelligence information regarding the protests.

Members of Parliament sign the motion to fire Gachagua

This follows confirmation from several MPs that they have signed in support of the motion.

The Deputy Majority Leader in the National Assembly Owen Baya announced that the collection of signatures is ongoing and that the motion will be presented to Parliament at the appropriate time.

Although he did not give specific details about the motion to remove him, he explained that the members of parliament will have the opportunity to express their views immediately after the motion is officially submitted to the Parliament.

Baya emphasized the bipartisan nature of the initiative, pointing out that lawmakers from both sides of the political spectrum support it.

Sources suggest that the motion may be presented before the President William Rutowho is currently attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York, should return.
