Lenah Itheru Murungi faced difficult times with her husband, who she said never treated her well.
Together they had four children, and despite her loyalty and integrity to her husband, she never received the same love.
What suffering did Murungi go through?
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the 62-year-old woman recalled the sufferings she went through in her marriage, adding that some were shameful.
“My husband was beating me and even humiliating me more than I could imagine. Efforts to talk and find peace were in vain because no one could question him in his house. He was coming home late at night, drunk and causing violence.
“Even family members gave up helping us because, despite the talks, we kept coming back to the same issues,” he demanded.
Did Murungi's mother help him?
The woman from Meru remembered returning to her mother's house after almost losing her life. However, Murungi's mother supported her husband, saying that her daughter was at fault.
Finally Murungi found out that her mother and her husband had relationship the supposed romance continued.
“Even when I was insulted, he didn't help me. I thought he would be my refuge, but even inside his house I felt broken. They would go out to drink together, and when they returned home, they held hands. They used to cook outside so I wouldn't eat with them,” he said bitterly.
