- Residents became suspicious when a strong smell started coming from the busy area
- Witnesses revealed that they initially thought the cat was dead, until houseflies began to hover over the car
The body of a person whose name is not known has been discovered in the boot of a Range Rover car that was parked in a car yard in Kinondoni in Dar es Salaam.
The car, placed among other vehicles displayed for sale, caused concern after sitting idle for three days.
Residents alerted police about the suspicious vehicle, prompting officers to respond to the scene.
It is said that the police spent more than 30 minutes trying to break the car.
Due to the strong stench coming from the car, officers had to spray the area to reduce the smell before gaining access.
Witnesses of the incident told Mwananchi that they initially thought the car was a normal part of cars for sale.
However, suspicions grew after remaining in the same location for a day.
The witness of the incident, Hamisi Hamadi, noted that the smell increased during the day, indicating that something is up.
“At first, we thought the cat was dead, but when houseflies started flying over the car, we knew something was off,” Hamadi explained.
Police have removed the body from the scene, and launched an investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death.
Further details on the identity of the victim or the cause of death are still unknown at the time of reporting.
