Newspapers: Ichung'wah to be given the post of Internal Security Minister Gachagua being fired, Duru Zasema

This newspaper reported on Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's warning to President William Ruto regarding plans to remove him from power.

Speaking at the service of the Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) church in the city ThikaSunday, September 22, Gachagua asked Ruto to put his UDA party in order amid divisions within the party.

Gachagua told Ruto to avoid the politics of betrayal and fulfill his promise to ensure that his deputy is not disrespected, and added that if he does not fulfill that promise, then he will not be able to be trusted with any other promise.

“I would like to ask my boss, President William Ruto, to be careful and do the right thing, and let's keep our house together. Let's not mess things up and let's not bring back politics of betrayal,” Gachagua warned.

Former secretary general of UDACleophas Malala, said those pushing the motion to remove Gachagua entrusted two ODM MPs with the responsibility of leading the process.

Malala claimed that Gachagua's opponents have chosen Junet Mohamed and Peter Kaluma to be the leaders of the movement.

“The same people who are advancing that argument, and as I am told that they have chosen Junet Mohamed and Peter Kaluma, they will start by removing your deputy, but I assure you that the same people will remove you as president,Malala said.

Githunguri Member of Parliament, Gathoni Wamuchomba, supported Malala's statement, saying the motion to remove Gachagua will be presented next week.

He urged the president to take action and end the political conflict with his deputy, stressing that Gachagua's loyalty to the president has made the deputy president even captured.

If the motion to remove Gachagua passes, Internal Security Minister Kithure Kindiki, Majority Leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung'wah, and Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro will be big winners.

According to sources, Gachagua's opponents are just waiting for President William Ruto to approve the motion to remove his deputy from office.

Kindiki has emerged as a potential deputy, with government operatives trying to promote him as a better assistant to the president than the current one.

In the change, Ichung'wah will take the place of Kindiki in the Ministry of Interior, while Ndindi will be promoted to take the place of Member of Parliament Kikuyu in the leadership of the National Assembly.

“The President is considering his options if he allows the motion against the Deputy President. People have been tasked with selling Kithure Kindiki as the best successor,” said the circles.
