Fever Bay – The police have launched an investigation into the death of a University lecturer Nairobi who was found dead in his home in the village.
How did UoN lecturer Samwel Mwanda die?
The body of Samwel Owino Mwanda was found in a tree in his compound on Thursday, September 19, in Kachola Village, Kodera South, in Rachuonyo South Sub-County.
According to South Kodera Senior Chief Joseph Mboga, don of the college staple he returned home from Nairobi, and his death was discovered by his staff.
“The body of a university student was found by his employee in his compound this evening. We still do not know what could have caused him to commit suicide. The investigation has already begun,” he said.
Homa Bay County Police Commander, Hassan Barua confirmed the incident, saying Owino had dinner with his staff on Wednesday, September 18, and would travel back to Nairobi on Thursday, September 19.
The letter said police found a ladder the don could climb before tying a rope to a tree and a note with his wife's phone number.
The body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary of Rachuonyo South Sub-County pending an autopsy.
