Nakuru – A heartbroken man has bitterly recounted a horrific incident that left him homeless and stranded.
Alex Nganga Kimani was a victim of floods in Maai Mahiu, Nakuru county, months ago.
How old were Kimani's daughters?
Kimani is still grieving the loss of his property and family due to the disaster following the heavy rains.
He lost his wife and two daughters; he has not yet found the bodies of his children who were swept away by the flood.
“It's almost five months now since the flood swept away my family. The strong water carried away my two daughters, a boy and a child sand in that fateful night. I have never heard any information about them,” he told Mururi TV.
It was not the first time for Kimani to lose her children as she revealed that she had lost two children before.
Kimani remembers the night of the Maai Mahiu flood
Both had sons, and died of pneumonia when very young, at different years.
The father from Nakuru recalled the night when the tragedy happened, recounting the sad event before he lost his loved ones.
“It was on Sunday when I came home from work and my family had left church, we talked about worship. The next day I discussed with my wife that I should go to work and come home early to check on the children because they were not going to school and then we went to bed,” he remembered.
How did Kimani know about his wife's death?
Kimani from Nakuru recounted how he drowned in water that swept him from one room to another.
He crashed in the ramp and later found himself in the hospital.
“I was told that my wife's body was identified, but she was dead. My children were not found. They were buried in the soil or carried away from our home,” she said with tears.
