Led by Naomi Oketch, the students are protesting these issues because the administration has not responded to their complaints.
“We had no other option but to strike because our previous requests to the administration were ignored. Some of the dormitories do not have working electrical sockets and there is a shortage of study chairs. Despite explaining this, we have not received any help,” Oketch explained to Citizen Digital.
A fire broke out in the dormitory of Multimedia University
During the protest, a fire broke out in one of the dormitories.
College staff and students rushed to put out the fire, while many tried to use buckets of water to pour on the fire, while others seemed to be scared.
This incident adds to the series of fire incidents in schools, which have recently caused extensive damage to dormitories and property in various secondary schools.
