Plans Continue to Dismiss Gachagua, Kiambu Adai Senator

Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang'wa has claimed that a group of MPs from Mount Kenya have plans to exclude Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from the political arena
He warned the parliamentarians against touching the second leader with authority, saying Gachagua is still a link of unity in the area
Comparing the situation of Minister of Internal Affairs Kithure Kindiki to that of Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro, he asked them to be careful because those who support Kindiki may abandon him too

Speaking at the 100th anniversary celebrations of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Baricho, Ndia, Kirinyaga county, the senator suggested that there is a conspiracy to exclude Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from the political arena.

Thang'wa claimed that the MPs are planning to remove Gachagua from power by suing him and assigning his positions to others.

“They are planning to unite, bring a motion to remove him from power, put him in prison and give space to other people,” the senator claimed.

He defended the deputy president, insisting that Gachagua will continue to be an important political voice for the region Mount Kenya.

“You are our link of unity and I will stand with you. When you spoke about our unity, you had a far-sighted vision. People are being used to divide Mt. Kenya. Let me tell you, we are the ones who chose Gachagua as the Mountain and we will not allow anyone to touch him,” he added.

The senator warned Minister Kindiki to be careful with the support he gets, saying that Mount Kenya MPs had previously supported Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro as an important leader but later abandoned him.

His claims come as the division continues to grow in the area where several Kenya Kwanza leaders criticized Gachagua for not attending the church service attended by the President William Ruto.
