Plans Continue to Dismiss Gachagua, Kiambu Adai Senator

Kirinyaga – Senator Karungo of Thang'wa has claimed that the recent strong support of the 48 MPs of Mount Kenya for the Minister of Internal Security Kithur Kindiki you have a hidden agenda.

Speaking at the 100th anniversary celebrations of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Baricho, Ndia, Kirinyaga county, the senator suggested that there is a conspiracy to exclude Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from the political arena.

Thang'wa claimed that the MPs are planning to remove Gachagua from power by suing him and assigning his positions to others.

“They are planning to unite, bring a motion to remove him from power, put him in prison and give space to other people,” the senator claimed.

Karungo Thang'wa vows to defend Rigathi Gachagua

He defended the deputy president, insisting that Gachagua will continue to be an important political voice for the region Mount Kenya.

“You are our link of unity and I will stand with you. When you spoke about our unity, you had a far-sighted vision. People are being used to divide Mt. Kenya. Let me tell you, we are the ones who chose Gachagua as the Mountain and we will not allow anyone to touch him,” he added.

The senator warned Minister Kindiki to be careful with the support he gets, saying that Mount Kenya MPs had previously supported Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro as an important leader but later abandoned him.

His claims come as the division continues to grow in the area where several Kenya Kwanza leaders criticized Gachagua for not attending the church service attended by the President William Ruto.
