Nairobi – Majority Leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung'wah has continued his attacks against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking during a church service in Embakasi West on Sunday, September 15, Ichung'wah said some government officials were obstructing the development agenda of the President William Ruto.
What Ichung'wah said about the 'snake' in the government
Earlier, the Kikuyu member of parliament warned the deputy president against using his unity drive Mount Kenya for his own benefit.
The two have had their differences, and their differing opinions have caused tension among the leaders of Kenya Kwanza.
Speaking in Meru on Sunday, September 9, Ichung'wah criticized Gachagua for promoting the unity of Mlima Kenya only when seeking personal benefits that do not benefit the region or the nation.
He also criticized Gachagua for linking his claims to the votes that President William Ruto got from the area, claiming that Ruto got those votes through his own efforts and not because of Gachagua.
That member of parliament Kikuyu he urged the president to ignore his political enemies and focus on fulfilling his ambitious promises.
Without naming names, Ichung'wah asked Ruto to 'remove the snake' from his Kenya First administration before it is too late.
“Don't be afraid, get rid of that snake. That fierce snake on your arm, the snake, the snake in your government, please get rid of him. Take precautions before you bite. Get away from him so that your hand can do what God intended that hand to do,” said Ichung'wah.
The famous member of parliament mentioned a passage from the Bible and likened it to the challenges that the president is facing under his leadership.
“We read in the book of Acts 3:28 that when the Apostle Paul arrived in Malta after a shipwreck with many people who swam to the shore, when they were starting a fire, when you read to 27, a snake coiled around his hand,” said Ichung'wah.
According to Ichung'wah, the 'snake' in Kenya's administration Kwanza wanted to make Ruto unable to work.
