- The new decision of Mt Kenya Parliamentarians' movement to separate from Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is meaningless
- Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, who noted that the MPs are using Gachagua to cleanse themselves after disappointing their voters by passing the 2024 Finance Bill
- 48 MPs accompanied Internal Security Minister Kithure Kindiki, who entrusted him with the task of connecting Mount Kenya with the National Executive Committee
Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba does not believe that the resolutions of the parliamentary session of Mount Kenya will be of any benefit to the people.
48 MPs from the region gathered in Nyahururu on Thursday, September 12, to discuss the political dynamics of the region and its general situation.
They reached a decision to support the Minister of Internal Affairs Kithure Kindiki as their favorite leader, giving him the unique responsibility of uniting the region with the National Administration, thus rejecting the leadership of the Deputy President Rigathi Gachaguawho had positioned himself as the chief leader of Mount Kenya.
Responding to the development, Wamuchomba said the MPs are irrelevant in their areas of representation, as they had lost the trust of their voters.
He noted that the MPs supported the condemned Finance Bill 2024, saying their position was a betrayal of the people and that they will not be able to correct themselves from the financial bill scandal.
Mamuchomba criticized the new political actions of the MPs, saying they are using the deputy president as a way to mislead the public from their position on the bill.
“What should be known by the 48 MPs is that they lost relationship and their voters when they agreed to financial bills that hurt the people in 2023 and 2024. The press conference to deny the vice president is a way to divert from the important needs of their voters,” he said.
