Becky Vivian, aged 23, was the only person who died when an LPG gas tanker collided with a Galaxy 3 that was transporting a body to Rongo for burial.

Becky was one of the mourners, and the deceased was her uncle. The police reported that the tanker lost its brakes before colliding with the matatu.

How Becky Vivian's family mourned her death:

In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, her family expressed their deep sorrow as they mourned Becky. Her sister, Beverline Sonia, tearfully described Becky's achievements since she graduated in 2023.

“We are heartbroken. Becky was a light to our family, but now we are broken. He has done a lot for us. We don't know how we will deal with his death. My sister was loved, she had a generous heart that everyone loved. He loved God. We hoped he would do more, but now he's gone,” Beverline revealed.

What roles did Becky have in their family?

As the first child among five siblings, Becky had started helping their father pay school fees for her younger siblings after getting a job at a private school, where she was working for only her second term.

“Becky was preparing to help my sister transfer to a nursing course at Mount University Kenyawhere he had found a position. Now we don't know how we will be able to afford it,” Beverline said with tears in her eyes.

Beverline described the devastating effect Becky's death had on their mother, who is devastated by the deaths of her brother and daughter.

“My mother can't calm down, and this news is too much for her to bear, especially with her health condition,” he said.

During the interview, her younger siblings were crying while asking about Becky, unable to understand her absence.

“We want Becky! We want Becky! Where is he? Bring Becky,” he wailed aloud.

Becky's father announced that her body has been transferred to Rongo, where she will be laid to rest.

Meanwhile, his uncle will be buried on Friday, September 13.
