Pain – John Mwangi is among the parents mourning the loss of his son following the fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy.
Mwangi went to Naromoru Hospital Level 4 on Monday, September 10, to try to identify his son's body.
Dad tests DNA at Naromoru Level 4 Hospital
A heartbroken father lost his 6th grade son in a fire that claimed the lives of many more young people.
She could not hide her grief as she opened up about the loss of her 11-year-old son in the horrific incident.
“I am the father of two children in that school. One is alive and well at home, but the other is missing until now. He was not among the dead or confessed, so he must be among the bodies, and that is why we came to take DNA samples,” he told it NTV Kenya sadly.
When did the Hillside Endarasha fire tragedy happen?
Mwangi was looking for his son since the fire happened on Thursday, September 5.
Like many parents, he showed relief after learning the fate of his boy, a few days after not having enough information.
“We know the fate of our children. We don't have numbers. We are told about false hopes about children in the village or wandering around, but we know where the children are. My child will go through the DNA process while we wait for the next procedure,” he said.

In another story, Patrick Gikandi expressed his fear when he heard about the fire in the poor school where his son studies.
However, Gikandi breathed a sigh of relief when he knew that his son was safe and sound.
He had rushed to the school to see the boy, then he felt emotional when he saw some parents crying after learning that their children had died.
