Kericho: 3 people killed, many injured following an accident involving several vehicles

NTV reported that the accident on Saturday, September 7, happened in the Kapmakaa area around 3.45 pm.

How the Kericho accident happened

Kericho County Traffic Control Officer Selina Chirchir said the accident occurred after a Toyota Hiace 3 that was traveling from Londiani to Kericho collided with an oil truck.

“The driver of the oil truck lost control of the vehicle and hit the three on the head causing it to roll,” Chirchir said.

According to the police chief, the oil truck also hit three other vehicles behind the PSV 3.

Chirchir said three people including one woman and two men died on the spot while several other passengers were injured and taken to the Kericho county referral hospital for treatment.

However, Chirchir said that none of the drivers in the car were injured in the accident.

Preliminary investigations indicate that heavy rain in the area may have contributed to poor visibility for drivers.

What caused the London accident that killed 3 people

In other sad news, three people lost their lives in a fatal road accident at Fort Ternan along the Londiani-Muhoroni Highway.

On Friday, September 6, a fatal early morning accident involved a Mercedes Benz trailer and a Nissan Double Cabin.

According to the previous police report, the accident happened around 6:00 am when the two cars that were going in the opposite direction collided head on.

Citizen Digital's report revealed that the trailer was transporting LPG gas, while the Nissan Double Cabin had three people, a woman and two men.

Three people inside the Nissan Double Cabin died on the spot following the effects of the accident.

The driver of the trailer survived the crash and was rushed to Fortenan County Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
