County of Lamu – Lamu has fallen into mourning following the death of Deputy Governor Raphael Munyua Ndung'u.
The deputy governor reportedly died while receiving treatment at a medical facility that has not yet been disclosed by his family.
In a statement, the Member of Parliament for Lamu West Stanley Muthama confirmed his death, describing him as a dedicated servant of the county.
“It is with great shock and sadness that I have received the news of the passing of our Deputy Governor of Lamu County, Raphael Munyua Ndung'u who was ill and was being treated. Munyua was the third Deputy Governor of Lamu and was a health worker. A dedicated servant and a dedicated people person who strived to achieve excellence in his Work,” Muthama said.
Muthama extended his prayers to the family of the deceased, his friends, and the people of Lamu County.
He expressed hope that divine grace and comfort would be showered upon them in this time of sorrow.
