Pain – The number of dead at Hillside Endarasha Academy school after the outbreak last night has reached 21.
Two other students died from burns on Saturday, September 7, two days after the tragedy.
Government spokesman Isaac Mwaura said in an official statement published on X.
The government asked the parents to send the students back to Endarasha
To ensure that all students are accounted for, the Secretary General of Basic Education Belio Kipsang asked parents to return the students for accounting before sending them home.
In his request to parents, the Minister of Internal Affairs Kithur Kindiki he said the students needed to be returned for the purpose of equipment and advice.
The government also asked those who may have taken students following the fire to return them to the school.
This announcement has come after it was found that some parents and guardians took it upon themselves to take their children without checking the authorities and service providers in the disaster area.
However, the instructions did not please the citizens, who criticized the government for not caring about the problems of parents.
They said that parents had the right to take necessary precautions at their own discretion, including removing their children from the scene, given what happened.
