He allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend, Margaret Mbitu, and left her body in his car.

The prosecution claims that Mbitu's body was found with ten wounds on the face and neck, lying face down on the seat in front of the car, according to CBS News.

“He had ten injuries to his face and neck, including severe injuries to the carotid and neck. Kang'ethe left his body in the front seat of a black car from the time of his death until 30 hours later, when he drove away. Mbitu's body was you are looking down, while the chair is propped up and covered with bags and random things to hide him,” said prosecutor Mark Lee.

What did Margaret Mbitu's family say?

Following Kang'ethe's arraignment, Mbitu's family expressed their relief and thanked the authorities for bringing him back. United States after fleeing to Nairobi, Kenya.

Mary Kinyariro, his cousin, said that although the search for justice has been long, they were committed to fighting for it, as NBC Boston reported.

“We were worried day and night that today would not come and I have not slept well until today, because of the hard work of the law enforcement agencies and everyone here that my sister gets justice, it is a very long journey. Today gives us hope and represents a step forward towards justice .

“Today, we remember her kindness, generosity, smile, and infectious laugh, which lit up every room she provided. We think about her dreams of becoming a businessman, becoming a nurse to help take care of others and we remember the hole she left in our lives,” another cousin, Joel Muhoro, added.

Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden also described Mbitu as a beloved caregiver, beloved nurse, good soul, and wonderful daughter and sister.

Kevin Kang'ethe extradition to the United States

Kang'ethe was extradited to the United States to answer a murder charge filed against him after his girlfriend's body was found in his car.

DPP Renson Ingonga said he will offer his support to the prosecution, especially the FBI team as Kang'ethe's case continues.

The DPP's office also promised to pray for Mbitu's family in seeking justice.
