- William Ruto's government will implement the second round of salaries and new basic rates for public servants in different job groups
- The lowest paid civil servant in the CSG17 job group will receive a minimum salary of KSh 15,580, while the highest paid in CSG4 will receive KSh 365,880
- The Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management has identified the basic salary levels that will come into effect in the 2024/2025 financial year
The government of Kenya has announced a salary increase for public servants for the 2024/2025 financial year.
When will the salary increase of civil servants in Kenya start?
This follows the implementation of the second phase of public service payments and benefits in the national government.
Under the new structure, civil servants will also get improved allowances.
“The second phase of salaries and new basic rates will be implemented for civil servants in CSG17 to CSG4 from July 1 2024,” The Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management said in a document seen by TUKO.co.ke.

When will the minimum wage be raised?
In related news, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection (CS) Alfred Mutua assured Kenyan workers that the 6% increase in the minimum wage would be implemented before the end of the year.
On May 1, the President William Ruto he ordered a 6% increase in the minimum wage, marking a major step to improve the economic well-being of workers.
Ruto said the move is part of the government's efforts to strengthen the purchasing power of Kenyans, which has been reduced in recent days.
