A few days after the tragic accident on the Nithi bridge that claimed the lives of 12 people, families have started the process of identifying their loved ones and making burial arrangements.
The victims were part of a group of 20 women, known as the Vision Group, who had visited a friend there Meru.
Their journey back ended in disaster, leaving a trail of grief and sorrow.
Family members flocked to the mortuary of the Chuka County Referral Hospital to identify the bodies of the deceased and plan to transfer them to centers near their homes.
At the same time, the survivors of the accident, who were in a Toyota Hilux car, are undergoing treatment at the PCEA Chogoria hospital, where it is reported that their condition is going well.
“We have stabilized their condition. The survivors have minor and major injuries, which we treat them medically, surgically and psychologically,” Ann Mburu, Deputy Chief Medical Officer at PCEA Chogoria Hospital said.
While those families are facing the tragedy of suddenlyhave told painful stories of the accident and now they are facing the difficult task of planning life without their loved ones.
