Kericho – A fatal road accident claimed the lives of 13 people on Tuesday, September 3.
A trailer collided with a passenger car at Kipsitet area in Koguta, on the Londiani-Muhoroni Highway.
What caused the Muhoroni accident?
The driver of the trailer is said to have lost control before it veered off the road and hit a rickshaw that was being driven towards Poisonous.
Police in a report confirmed 13 people died on the spot despite differences in reports showing the number of deaths.
The bodies of the deceased and the driver were kept at the St Vincent Mission Hospital mortuary before identification.
Three people, one child and two adults, survived the accident with serious injuries but of different degrees and have been hospitalized in Muhoroni sub-county hospital.
Photos shared from the scene showed a grim scene with blood splattered all over.
Matatu was left with scrap seats hanging down, a clear sign of the magnitude of the accident.
It was towed to Kipsitet Police Station.
