Beijing, China – 11 people, including students, have been confirmed dead after a school bus hit parents and students at the school gate.
How did the Beijing accident happen?
Students and parents were at the entrance of a secondary school in Tai'an city, Shandong province, before 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, when the tragedy occurred.
It is said that the driver lost control of the car as it approached the school in Shandong.
CBS News reported that six parents and five students lost their lives. One of the injured is in critical condition, while the others are in good condition receiving treatment.
Pictures on the internet showed adults kneeling next to children whose bodies were strewn on the street.
The local authorities have detained the bus driver while the investigation into the incident continues.

Elizabeth explained that the 20 women traveled to the celebration event in two cars, where the parents were awarded gifts from various guests.
When their car was only a few meters away from the scene, Elizabeth heard a loud bang and when she turned around, she saw that the car had crashed.
