Machakos – A fatal accident occurred in Konza City on the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway on Sunday, September 1, resulting in the death of one person.
Two other people were injured when their pickup truck collided with a trailer from the rear. Both cars were moving towards Nairobiand the deceased died at the scene.
The remains were removed and taken to the police station. The injured were taken to Machakos Level 5 Hospital for treatment, Citizen Digital reported.
Wavinya Ndeti gives his statement about the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway accident
While the police are investigating the case, Machakos governor Wavinya Ndeti has sent his condolences to the family of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
“I have learned with sadness about the fatal accident that happened on the road Mombasa in the town of Konza, my sincere condolences to the family who lost their loved one. I also wish the injured a speedy recovery,” said the governor. .
He noted that the emergency team, informed by the public, provided first aid at the scene before transporting the injured to the hospital.
“Our emergency personnel received a call from the public. Our Muumandu ambulance crew responded within the shortest possible time and provided the necessary services to the injured before rushing them to Machakos Hospital Level 5 for specialized medical services,” he added.
12 people died in the Nithi bridge accident
elsewhere, 12 people perished on the Nithi bridge on Meru-Embu Road after their car collided with a truck.
The deceased included nine women who were returning from an event to receive the blessings of their parents in the county of Meru.
A witness told TUKO.co.ke that the car sped past after braking before colliding head-on with another.
