- While at the home of Energy Minister Opiyo Wandayi, Junet jokingly claimed that he confirmed that there were no traps set for Raila in the State House
- Referring to the previous elections, Junet said ODM will now accept responsibility for the government's mistakes, unlike in the past when they were blamed without being in power
Siaya – Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has continued to ridicule the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In his latest conversation, the sly MP reminded the DP with humor of the alleged traps he had previously laid near the White House to prevent the possibility of a coalition between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga.
While returning to the home of Energy Minister Opiyo Wandayi on Friday, August 30, the MP expressed his happiness that the Deputy President supports the ambition of Raila of vying for the chair of the African Union Commission (AUC).
Junet claimed that Raila's trip would not be dangerous as the DP did not set traps to trap the former prime minister.
He drew laughter from the crowd as he explained in detail that he was in the government palace and confirmed that there were no traps.
“This OR issue involving Father is very important for us, I have seen that you have put in place effective strategies. The presidents of East Africa were with you recently; you spoke, they spoke, and even the deputy president said Raila must get that. This time he has not set traps. I was at the White House and I didn't see any traps this time.
Will ODM take responsibility for the government's mistakes?
The Member of Parliament recalled the events of the 2022 General Election that they were on different sides.
The MP mentioned the blame that the opposition party bore for the flaws in the government of former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
However, Junet explained that they would be happy to be blamed in the current agreement as ODM leaders had been given important positions in the Cabinet.
“All the evils done by the government were blamed on us; they said we were in a handshake government while we were left outside the fence. We had nothing; none of our ministers were inside. But now there are ODM members in the government. If there are gaps now, we will accept them,” he said.
What mountains did Junet hand over to Gachagua?
In a similar case, the MP 'gave' several hills in Nyanza to the deputy president, referring to Gachagua's focus on Mount Kenya.
During the Thanksgiving service in South Suba, Junet listed the hills as Gwassi, Migoriand Nyasare, jokingly inviting Gachagua to take them.
Gachagua responded with humor, suggesting that Junet get the mountain titles so that they could connect them to the Mountain Kenya for a united Kenya.
