Kenyans with multiple partners are also at risk of infection, with the ministry stressing the need for caution and preventive measures.

“Health care workers, people close to confirmed cases, and those with multiple sexual partners have a higher chance of infection,” MoH warned in his warning.

The Ministry of Health's alert is part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness and prevent the spread of Mpox, which continues to grow as a public health issue.

Symptoms and how to prevent the disease

Previously, the Ministry of Health explained in detail the symptoms of the disease, noting that an infected person may show symptoms such as skin rash or mucosal lesions, fever, headache, general pain, and swollen lymph nodes.

However, individuals can avoid contracting the disease by avoiding close contact with those showing symptoms of Mpox or confirmed cases.

One can also ensure their safety by washing hands regularly with soap and water or using hand sanitizers.
