The reception was so hot that Ruto took to social media to thank the people of Kisumu county.

“Thank you, people and businesses of Kisumu Capital City, for the warm welcome,” Ruto's statement read in part.

How Ruto, Raila formed a broad government

This happens about a month after Raila revealing how he and Ruto compromised and led to the creation of a broad government.

According to the former prime minister, former president Uhuru Kenyatta contacted him and asked him to speak to Ruto as the country was “on fire.”

Before he did so, the president came to him, showed him the areas where problems arose, and both discussed the way forward.
