Delhi- A public service bus carrying more than 40 passengers caught fire on a busy highway on Thursday, August 29.
Were there any casualties in the bus accident?
The bus reportedly caught fire at the Jagatpuri bus stand. Access to the scene was restricted as all 40 passengers were rescued.
Fire Station Officer Anup Singh confirmed that the fire started in the AC unit due to a short circuit, which caused the unit to be completely burnt.
Three fire engines reached the scene immediately and extinguished the fire.
“We rushed to the spot and put it out. The fire is out,” he said.
Singh further confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported due to the incident.
The Mombasa bus caught fire
This incident comes a few hours after a similar incident happened in the country Kenyaa Coast Bus Company bus, full of passengers, caught fire on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
TUKO.co.ke gathered that the bus caught fire in the Mtito Andei area within the Tsavo National Park on Thursday, August 29.

After being evacuated, the passengers were transferred to the rescue bus and continued their journey to Mombasawhere they arrived safely.
Reports indicated that the fire was caused by brake fluid in the rear wheel. The bus company has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
This comes after another Pwani bus collided with several vehicles in the Migaa area near Salgaa in the Molo constituency.
According to the Kenya Red Cross, the accident which happened at 4 am on Tuesday, August 20, killed 14 people and left more than 30 injured.
