The accident on Wednesday, August 28 involved two trucks and a private car on a busy highway.

How Tharaka Nithi's accident happened

According to witnesses, the accident occurred when a truck and a private car, both traveling in one direction, collided with another truck that was transporting milk from the other direction.

Citizen Digital's report indicated that the impact of the collision resulted in the instant death of one person at the scene.

Several others sustained injuries, while the drivers of both trucks sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Chogoria Mission Hospital for immediate treatment.

The accident caused heavy traffic on the highway as emergency services worked to remove the wreckage and help the injured.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, and asked drivers to be careful.

The accident on Sunday morning, August 25, involved an oil truck, a tractor, and a Probox in the Murugusi area.

Lugari sub-county police commander Julius Meli confirmed the accident, saying two people survived the accident with serious injuries.

Meli said the tanker, which was traveling at high speed, hit a tractor carrying construction materials before hitting the incoming Probox vehicle.

The tanker dragged the Probox for more than fifteen meters, and following the impact, the five passengers in the Probox died instantly.

Two others got serious injuries after they managed to jump out of the car and were rushed to the hospital Eldoret.
