Homa Bay – Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has laid the red carpet ahead of President William Ruto's visit to the Luo-Nyanza region of ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The head of state is expected to make a four-day visit to the region that voted for him Raila in the 2022 General Election.
Ruto's tour will start today, Wednesday, August 28, in the county of Migoriwhere he is expected to launch the Kegonga Pillar Water Project and the Ngere-Mapera Road before reviewing progress in the Kuja Chini Water Sprinkler Project.
The President will then visit Homa Bay County on Thursday, August 29.
How is Mbadi preparing for Ruto's visit?
The national leader awarded the county two lucrative positions in his administration, Mbadi in the treasury and Raymond Omollo serving as the Home Secretary.
Before the president's visit, Mbadi has taken steps to ensure a memorable event in the county.
Mbadi has placed large posters welcoming the president on the roads leading into Homa Bay CBD.
The poster shows Mbadi giving him a hand Ruto during the swearing-in ceremony with words of welcome in the Luo dialect.
“HE William Samoei Ruto, welcome to Homa Bay County. We welcome you home,” reads the board.
In Homa Bay, Ruto will commission the Oyugis Water Project, inspect the Homa Bay Fish Market, and launch the Rusinga Ring Road. Then he will decorate the Mbadi Thanksgiving service.
How is the Kenyan economy under Mbadi?
Previously, Homa Bay MP Peter Kaluma praised the professionalism within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), highlighting the expertise of the party.
Kaluma claimed the economy of Kenya you are already witnessing positive changes following the appointment of Mbadi to Ruto's Cabinet.
Kaluma saw the appointment of Mbadi to lead the Treasury after Njunguna Ndung'u was sacked as a sign of the opposition's impact on the economy.
