In the latest situation, the secretary general of the party Hassan Omar has criticized the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

During the press conference, Omar took Gachagua to account for what he saw as an abuse of power, reminding him that he is not the President's co-president. William Ruto.

“If it had been anyone, the results would have been the same. We went there to vote for William Ruto and you should help him. We did not elect you to be the co-president. Study the Constitution; you are the head. assistant to the president, you are not the co-president,” Omar said.

What is Omar's warning to Gachagua?

The Secretary General warned Gachagua against undermining the presidency, stressing that such behavior could cause him to lose respect in the Office of the Deputy President.

He gave insight into Gachagua's appointment, revealing that Home Affairs Minister Kithure Kindiki was a contender for the seat until changes were made 12 hours after the decision.

If you start to undermine the presidency, we will also stop respecting the Office of the Deputy President, not as an office but as a person. So we ask for one nation. You were chosen, and I repeat, you were chosen; I was there, and the decision to choose you over Kindiki changed after several hours. He also challenged Gachagua to prepare for the 2027 election if he feels dissatisfied with his current role.

Mwangi Kiunjuri slandered Gachagua

Separately, Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri accused the DP of trying to allocate Mt Kenya area for personal political gain.

Kiunjuri claimed that Gachagua's efforts to consolidate support in the region Mount Kenya It is part of a wider plan to undermine Ruto's influence.

The leader of the Service Party asked the leaders of Mount Kenya to remain united with the central government despite Gachagua's actions.

Kiunjuri accused Gachagua of focusing on regional politics instead of supporting the implementation of the campaign promises of the Kenya First coalition.
