What did the people of Mombasa say?

In a video circulating online, an old man wearing a blue shirt is seen getting out of the car and approaching a traffic officer.

The old man then pointed his finger at the officer, warning that he would record a video of the officer's actions if he tried to ask for a bribe from the matatu he was standing next to.

“If you had accepted a bribe, if you had taken it, I would have recorded you,” the man said.

The officer, seemingly unfazed, passed the man and went to the other side of the matatu, and ordered the driver to move the car.

The man then called traffic officials, accusing them of demanding bribes from public service vehicle drivers.

“You people are bothering the matatu drivers. You demand money from every matatu that passes by you,” he added.

The case involving Ian Njoroge attacking the police

In a separate incident, Ian Njoroge gave his answer following his arrest for beating and injuring a police officer at Mirema junction along Kamiti Road.

When questioned by police officers, Njoroge claimed that Jacob Ogendo demanded a large bribe from him.

According to the suspect, 19, they failed to agree when Ogendo entered his car after performing a U-turn, blocking other motorists.

So, Njoroge got angry, took a sword from under his seat, and followed Ogendo.
