Derrick went viral on the internet after his death as Kenyans shared their messages of condolence to the family.
The man was on vacation with his girlfriend Beth Linet when when the waves overcame him and took him away.
A video of Derrick drowning while his girlfriend looks on and doesn't know what to do has gone viral on social media.
Her boyfriend, who was on the beach with her in a video that went viral, was seen crying uncontrollably, with her friend holding her.
Beth had asked for help in finding her boyfriend's body in the comments section of the clip. He wrote:
“That woman is me. My husband drowned and we are still here on the beach looking for him. We are asking for any help to find him.”
He later confirmed that his body was mutilated.

Beth wrote an emotional message to her late boyfriend, talking about how the waves took away the love of her life.
In the video, she was seen crying while looking at the sea, trying to jump into the water, and her friends stopped her.
The woman said bitterly that she was returning home despite traveling to enjoy with the love of her heart.
