Nairobi Collins Jumaisi, the main suspect in Mukuru's murder, along with 12 Eritrean prisoners who were arrested for violating immigration laws, are said to have left the Gigiri Police Station without restriction.

A witness who is a prisoner at the station on Monday, August 19, claimed to see Jumaisi leaving through the main door while the two police officers he mentioned witnessed.

Mwananchi Digital reported that the witness saw all the suspects, including Jumaisi, walking outside their cells. The door of Jumaisi's cell was open, and he was no longer chained.

A witness claims that officers of the Gigiri Police Station were bribed

The witness reported seeing one of the Eritreans giving money to the two officers, who said they were heading to the canteen.

The witness noted that one officer later appeared drunk, a claim supported by the insiders of the station.

While the officers were away, it is said that the suspects took the opportunity to escape through the report desk and disappeared into the night.

Collins Jumaisi was there until midnight

A witness to the incident, who had been falsely arrested, confirmed that the officer on duty called all the prisoners shortly after midnight.

However, the officer left without closing the cell doors. When the cell was checked later, the handcuffs were found abandoned inside, and Jumaisi was not there.

In addition, he claimed that the disappearance of Jumaisi and other suspects became known after the woman serving them tea found out that they were few.

Earlier reports suggested that the suspects escaped by cutting the wire in the prison cell.

The leaders took to social media to express their disbelief, questioning how the 12 managed to escape from the Gigiri Police Station due to tight security.

A lawyer Smiles Smiles he claimed that if Jumaisi had disappeared from the station, then he was not involved in the genocide, mutilation and dumping of innocent Kenyans in the Mukuru quarry.

At the same time, Alinur Mohamed claimed to be “Kenya is just a joke.”
