Celebrations broke out in some parts of Meru after the Senate approved the sacking of the Governor Kawira Mwangazaas decided by the Members in the County Assembly.
Among those who celebrated was Robert Kirema from Mitunguu, who revealed to TUKO.co.ke that his happiness stems from the long-standing complaint of 2022.
What did Robert Kirema do to Mwangaza?
Kirema supported Mwangaza's election campaigns by installing electrical transformers in the governor's car to reduce dependence on generators.

The governor had promised him employment as a sound engineer after the election. However, Kirema claims that once Mwangaza came to power, he was ignored.
“He promised to appoint me as the county sound engineer, that's why I volunteered for his campaign. I installed transformers on his Rav4 and truck, and did many other jobs, and fully supported his campaign through my social media,” he said.
He noted that he had relationship professional relationship with Murega Baichu, Mwangaza's husband, as the governor reportedly avoided collaborating with him directly.
Kirema claimed that he has not been paid the KSh 35,000 he is demanding and that Mwangaza failed to help his children with karaha or subsidies, despite his great role in seeing him win the election and not being able to give him a job.
The father, who claims to work with various high-level leaders of the county, sent a message showing how his many efforts to contact Mwangaza and his staff to find jobs—for him and his wife, a pharmacist—failed.
“He owes me KSh 35,000, and since he came to power, the governor has been disappointing me. I have never received even a cup of tea, transport fare or lunch from him. Despite sending many messages and sharing photos from his campaign events, I never got any answers,” he added.
How did Kirema take Mwangaza to be kicked out?
When the 43-year-old man got news of Mwangaza's ouster, he remembered the prediction he made about the governor's ouster.
He claimed that he shared the prophecy and warned him about the challenges he would face during his term.
Kirema felt relieved, believing that the prosecution of the governor is proof for those he wronged.
“I am very happy because I believe the cure for debt is to pay, at least God has paid for us. If you owe someone, pay the debt, I have evidence, let's stop tarnishing the reputation of the people of Meru because of the individual. He was bad from the start but we were blindsided,” said Kirema.
